The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is soliciting bids to replace the lighting in multiple areas of the fire and rescue station. For more information, see the Lighting RFP in the Files section of our website.
We hold monthly drills on various topics - such as new tools that will be added to our apparatus or a refresher of the basics. The topic for this month was forcible entry which is considered one of the basic duties of the fire service and led by Chief Carter. We took advantage of a beautiful day with warmer than average temps to complete some water supply training. The crew covered topics such as a review of strategies for placing apparatus, apparatus pumps. Practical exercises on our large dump tank that is carried on our Tanker. The dump tank is used in rural areas without a hydrant to aid in tanker shuttle operations.

It is carnival time again! This is our biggest fundraiser each year, and we're looking forward to seeing all of our friends and neighbors again! Come on out each night, Wednesday through Saturday, June 21-24 2017, at 6pm. The Parade is on Thursday.
